Today Was a Good Day
Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 8:47PM My mom had a permanent shunt put in yesterday and today she was like herself again. She's missing a few days worth of memories but she is eating and talkative and upbeat. I talked to her twice on the phone today and it was wonderful!
On the science front, I got to use a pipetter today. Using a pipetter makes everyday better. It gives the day purpose and grounds me in the moment. I wasn't even working on my own experiment, just helping someone else but it felt really good. On top of that I got data to play with out of it. I will be working on my own experiments tomorrow and Friday and that makes me happy too.
We also got a puppy. Why? Because my husband loves babies and I have limited him to dog babies. (Four kids is enough for me.) Her name is Hops and she's super cute. She's part Australian Shepherd and part Yellow Lab. Too bad we have to go through all the housebreaking pain-in-the-butt stuff. I'm just glad we have a lot of hardwood floors and an awesome carpet cleaner.
